Art of Freedom Recipient Eliot Pattison Talks Tibet at BABF

May 3, 2019 by admin

Hello Friends of Tibet in the Bay Area,

I wanted to alert you that Eliot Pattison will be one of the featured authors at this year's Bay Area Book Festival May 4-5. I wondered if you were willing to share this information with your network?

An international lawyer by trade, Eliot Pattison is the only person to have won both the prestigious Mystery Writers of America’s Edgar Award and the U.S. Tibet House’s "Art of Freedom" Award, along with the likes of Richard Gere, Patty Smith, and Martin Scorsese, for his advocacy for Tibet in his internationally acclaimed Inspector Shan series. Banned in China, the series is translated into over 20 languages and promotes interest in Tibetan culture in all its aspects as well as brings awareness to China's human rights violations in Tibet.

The author will present Saturday, May 4, 1:30 PM - 2:45 PM, on the panel "Human Face: Literature That Brings Human Rights To Life" at The Magnes Museum, and Sunday, May 5, 1:30 PM - 2:45 PM, Mystery and Tragedy in Tibet: Interview with Bestselling Author Eliot Pattison, at Veterans Memorial Building Auditorium.
